This industrial pumping system was designed to handle medium flows of process wastewater created from cleaning cycles at the Merck Animal Health facility. The wastewater was specified with highly variable pH conditions, so the pumping system was designed with a double-wall fiberglass sump with leak detection. All of the submersible components in the well were constructed of stainless steel, including the Tsurumi duplex submersible pumps. The pumping system electrical controls comprised a UL listed panel with SCADA integration.
Chino Men's Prison|Chino, CA|135 GPM - 30' TDH
This package lift station was designed to meet the medium wastewater flows of this California prison. Solids-handling pumps in a duplex configuration are protected from cascading influent by a drop bowl. The liquid level-sensing is controlled by a pressure transducer and a float in used for emergency backup. A below-grade valve assembly holds the system’s valves, flow meters, and pressure gauges. An outdoor PLC panel with a basic alarm and an added input for a radio modem comprise the systems controls.
International-Matex Tank Terminals|Richmond, CA|770 GPM - 35' TDH
An IMTT industrial storage facility needed this stormwater pump station to collect runoff and pump it to treatment onsite. The duplex submersible pumps were engineered to handle the expected medium flows of stormwater. The pumps also needed to handle water that could potentially carry oil or other industrial chemicals stored on the site. An above-grade valve assembly used ball valves and check valves that were vertically integrated for easy access. The pump station electrical controls were located on an existing wall in the water treatment area.
Praxair Hydrogen Refinery|Port Arthur, TX|540 GPM - 280' TDH
This packaged pump station was the second of two pump stations supplied for industrial process water and stormwater at two Valero oil refineries. The design criteria specified varying flows which required a duplex pump configuration with an included “jockey” pump to handle the smaller flows.
Praxair Hydrogen Refinery|St. Charles, LA|562 GPM - 200' TDH
This was the first of two packaged pump stations needed to handle varying flows of industrial process water and stormwater at a hydrogen refinery. Submersible centrifugal pumps in a duplex configuration also included a submersible “jockey” pump.
